KS4 option - Photography

Subject Teacher: Mr Smith

We follow the Eduqas GCSE Art and Design Photography syllabus. We teach GCSE Photography in ways that inspire and bring out the best in all pupils, whilst equipping them with the skills to continue the subject with confidence at A-level and beyond.

The flexibility of its design means we can tailor our course to pupils interests and tapping into the abundance of opportunities our local area has for budding photographers. We teach to inspire, challenge and motivate every pupil, no matter what their level of ability, giving them opportunities to develop their technical expertise and understanding compositional ideas.

Pupils critical understanding is developed  through investigations of ideas and demonstrating understanding of sources. Creative making and refinement of work by exploring ideas, selecting and experimenting with appropriate media, materials, techniques and processes. Reflective recording developed through advancement of subject specific vocabulary and recording of  observations and insights relevant to intentions as work progresses. Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and demonstrates understanding of visual language.
