Life takes us in a thousand different directions: new cities, new careers, new chapters. But some things stay with you. West Kirby School is one of them. That's why we've launched Always WKS, a project to bring former pupils back together, celebrate where life has taken you, and show today's students what their future might look like.
We've been thinking about you
Every year, pupils leave WKS and begin remarkable journeys. Apprenticeships, universities, creative careers, businesses, families, lives built from the foundations laid at school. We've always wondered: Where did you go? What became of you?
And now we're finally asking, because your story matters. It matters to us, and it could matter deeply to a Year 11 student who's about to take their next step and has no idea what that might look like.
Get involved
If you are a former WKS pupil, or know someone who is, we would love to get in touch. We are looking to hear about life since school: the paths taken, the lessons learned, and the achievements worth celebrating, however big or small. Whether you went to university, trained in a trade, found a creative passion, or took a completely unexpected turn, your story has value.
Over the coming months, we will be sharing alumni spotlights, hosting networking events, recording podcasts and video interviews, and creating opportunities for former pupils to come back and speak to current students about their experiences. We will also be holding bakery meet-up events — relaxed, informal gatherings for alumni to reconnect with each other and with the school.

Getting involved is simple. Send us a direct message with your email address, and we will send you our alumni survey so you can share your story and tell us how you would like to stay connected. From there, you will be among the first to hear about upcoming events, features, and opportunities.
We are also looking for alumni who would be willing to speak to current pupils about their career paths, life experiences, and the transitions they have navigated since leaving school. If that sounds like something you would be open to, please let us know.

Current WKS pupils are right now figuring out who they are and what they're capable of. Hearing from someone who sat in the same classrooms, who had the same doubts, the same hopes, and went on to do something they're proud of? That's the kind of inspiration no lesson plan can replicate.
We're not asking you to be famous or to have everything figured out. We're just asking you to be honest, and to share a little of your journey.
