Inclusion Services
"The collective vision and drive to provide a school which meets pupils' holistic needs results in pupils' exceptional progress" Ofsted 2016
Welcome to West Kirby School Inclusion Services
All Inclusion Services are an intrinsic part to our pupils' education at West Kirby School and College. Integrated across the school, they provide valuable support to enable our pupils' learning, development and success. These include
- Our Clinical team: Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Medical Team
- Our Support team: Home School Liaison, Learning Mentors & Pastoral Care Team
At West Kirby School and College, alongside the support identified within a pupil's EHCP/Statement, we provide dynamic support through the Inclusion Services team for our young people through our Pupil Support Panel, an internal referral system. This is co-ordinated by Mrs Jenny Jones, SENCo and supported by representatives from our teams. We use a team around the child approach, where the panel is made up by staff from the Clinical teams.
Our Clinical team is led by Mrs Sarah Wilkinson, Head of Inclusion & Clinical Services. They work collaboratively with the education team and are involved with pupils on a day-to-day basis. Support is delivered through a 3 tier approach:
- Universal approaches (School-wide)
- Targeted approaches (Small group/classes)
- Specialist approaches (Bespoke assessments and interventions)
