Celebrating Earth Day

Our school community came together to celebrate Earth Day with a full day of activities focused on nature, sustainability, and caring for our planet.
The day began with pupils learning about the importance of Earth Day and why it matters. This was followed by an exciting visit by safari animals, providing a memorable hands-on experience that helped pupils connect with the natural world.
Throughout the morning, pupils also enjoyed time in our outdoor classroom, taking their learning beyond the classroom walls and into nature. During break time, pupils planted sunflower seeds as part of a growing competition which we are looking forward to watching develop over the coming weeks.
Later in the day, pupils watched and reflected on powerful environmental clips, including content from David Attenborough and the series Blue Planet II, encouraging thoughtful discussions about protecting our environment.
The day also included an Earth Day quiz and a scavenger hunt, where pupils worked together to solve clues. Rewards will be presented during assembly later this week.
It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm, teamwork, and growing awareness shown by pupils throughout the day. Events like this help to build understanding, responsibility, and a lasting sense of care for the world around us.
Well done to everyone who took part. Let’s continue to look after our planet every day.
