Blue Peter Book Badge Success

In exciting news this term, some of our Primary pupils have become proud recipients of a ‘Blue Peter Book Badge’ after they sent book reviews off to the popular CBBC show.

As part of a campaign launched on Blue Peter in celebration of World Book Day 2024, pupils across the Primary department wrote book reviews about their favourite novels. Ranging from ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ to ‘The Grinch’ and ‘Harry Potter’, pupils wrote, drew and rated their works of fiction before popping them in the post.

About the badge

The Book Badge was designed by much-loved children’s illustrator Sir Quentin Blake, and was launched on the show as a celebration of International Literacy Day in September 2023. Those between five and fifteen are eligible for the ‘Book Badge’, which joins the other eight available to achieve: – Blue, Silver, Green, Sport, Purple, Orange, Gold, and Music.

“We are extremely proud of our pupils, what a fantastic achievement this is!” - Mrs Fitzgerald, Adventurers' class teacher.
