Diversity and Inclusion Day 2024
On the 7th of March, we came together as a School to celebrate ‘Diversity and Inclusivity Day’ with the purpose of promoting environments and cultures where every individual can feel safe and a sense of belonging, and is empowered to achieve their full potential.
Diversity and inclusion are two closely linked values held by many organisations that are working to be supportive of different groups of individuals, including people of different races, ethnicities, religions, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations. Our off-timetable day was jam-packed, with many visitors coming to support our celebrations.
We were extremely lucky to welcome the following organisations into School to share with us their cultures and strong messages:
-
Anthony Walker Trust
-
Katumba Drummers
-
West Kirby Methodist Church
-
West Kirby Bookshop
-
Young Person’s Advisory Service (YPAS)
-
Hearts 4 Refugees
-
Wheelchair Rugby
With such a varied calibre of visitors, it ensured the day was full of inclusive activities and opportunities for all to get stuck in with. All pupils made the most of the sessions offered to them and were able to promote the idealisms of inclusion and diversity with one another.
A huge thank you to Miss Killey, our LGBTQ+ ambassador, who organised the day for us and thank you also goes to our visitors, without whom the day would not have been possible.
