We are proud to announce we are now proud recipients of the Anti-Bullying Silver Quality Mark. This award was led by our Anti-Bullying Lead Mr Brown.

The Anti-Bullying Quality Mark UK is a National award that challenges schools to demonstrate their effectiveness in anti-bullying and the prevention of harassment. It endorses the belief that the safety, mental health and wellbeing of everyone are essential elements of learning, development and achievement.

School communities that gain the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards can show that:

•  Children and young people come to school without the fear of being bullied or harassed
• Staff members respond to all aspects of bullying behaviour and harassment with confidence
• Families are confident that they know who to approach about bullying and harassment and that it will be dealt with efficiently and effectively.

 

Key highlights from the report include:

• The Anti-Bullying Ambassador is making a significant contribution to the strategic development of anti-bullying. 

• There is a collective commitment amongst students to look out for each other.

• Anti-bullying has been part of the school’s strategic thinking for a number of years.

• Parents feel that the school had established a positive culture of anti-bullying.

• ‘Spot prizes’, which recognise pupils’ and students’ application of the concepts and skills that they’ve learnt, are a ‘golden thread’ which meet a Gold standard.

• The response to bullying behaviour also compliments the school’s aims to develop pupils’ empathy and readiness to establish and maintain peer relationships.
