Charities Update
Since the last update, our charities team have been busy donating and fundraising for our International, nation and local charities. We caught up with charity lead Mrs Clemenson who gave us the low-down on what’s been going on.
International - Save the Children
Last term we ran a very successful bake sale, raking in £65 for our International Charity. That’s a lot of cake. Thank you to Ms Meegan, pupils and Mr Dickinson. That’s not all, a colossal collection of clothes, shoes and toiletries were taken to the Save the Children charity shop in Chester. The shop was overwhelmed and their stock room was full to the brim. A big thank you to the DofE team for delivering the donations. To top things off, a huge £135 was donated to the charity through a staff bonus ball. Well done team.
National - Guide Dogs UK
This term we launched our latest campaign for our National charity, Guide Dogs UK. Beginning this we had a special assembly where we were visited by a Guide Dog puppy. We don’t know who was more excited, pupils or staff!
Local - The Martin Gallier Project
The Residential Provision held a special tombola with proceeds going to our Local charity, The Martin Gallier Project. Well done team.
WKS was then approached by Alternative Approach, to support the distribution of hampers to vulnerable families over the Christmas period. Year 10 pupils, led by Charity Ambassador Katie, and pupils from Post-16, mindfully bought requested items and were able to contribute to ensuring these families had some support in the month of December.
