Head of Clinical Services

Mrs Nicky Tolley

Head of Clinical Services

I am the Clinical Lead Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. Before I came to WKS I worked for the NHS. Initially I had 2 general posts working with both adults and children, but found my niche when I got a full time job in a primary language unit attached to a mainstream school, working closely with a teacher and a nursery nurse.

This work was really rewarding and I enjoyed being able to make a real difference to the pupils and their families by fully integrating education and therapy skills.

I joined WKRS in 2004 and I was able to bring my skills and knowledge of working in the language unit, slowly starting to integrate speech and language therapy into the classroom environment.

In 2011, WKRS started to work towards ‘Autism Accreditation’ and I was given the role of leading the project and helping the school change and improve its practices with autistic pupils.

In 2012 I was also given the role of leading the Therapy and Additional Support Services.

As a Speech and Language Therapist I believe that communication is central to success in all aspects of life.

In September 2013 I joined the senior leadership team of the school and am fully committed to helping pupils fulfill their educational and personal potential.
