West Kirby School is a non-maintained Special School offering specialist Education and Care for pupils with a range of social, emotional and communication difficulties such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and related behavioural and learning difficulties. We provide places from KS2-KS5 and cater for both boys and girls.
We offer a wide range of services to children and young people, details of which can be found in the school prospectus or our website, or by contacting us directly.
Admissions procedure
Our referrals usually come from Local Authority Education Departments and we are currently used by around 20 Local Authorities throughout the North West of England, North Wales, Cumbria and beyond.
Applications for placements are usually referred to us by Local Education Authorities. Parents and Carers can contact individual local authority to find out about local admissions arrangements. If appropriate, however, an application can be considered from Social Care/Health Services. This arrangement will be with the agreement of the Education Authority.
Parents and Carers and those considering commissioning the service may take the opportunity to visit the school on an informal basis in order to gather relevant information.
Please find our Admissions Policy below with more information. If you'd like to talk through any queries regards admissions please contact Mrs Sam Stephens, PA to Principal who is happy to help. 0151 632 3201 or email
