Overview

The world is full of products that use drawings, words and pictures to bring designs alive. CD & DVD covers, adverts, packaging, point of sale display units, architectural models, logos, greetings cards, leaflets, books, TV and film titles, websites are all graphic products.

The Graphic course gives pupils an opportunity to explore this interesting and fast moving area of design. Key stage 4 Graphics is a creative and enjoyable course which pupils develop their research skills, problem solving, as well as the ability to work on their own initiative.

Pupils have the opportunity to develop an awareness of the world of graphic communication. Pupils also gain practical skills in design, sketching, use of digital media, materials and manufacture in mainly cards and plastics. Graphics helps pupils to develop your skills in other subjects such as Mathematics, English, Art, ICT and Media.
