Residential Provision
Sandpiper Profile
The group has
accommodation for up to six young people. We provide
opportunities for the boys and girls, as the group
can be mixed, to develop and build on their social
and independence skills.
Everyone is
encouraged to interact positively and to take
responsibility for their own behaviour and to care
for the environment we live in.
Emphasis is
placed on individuals to show consideration and
maturity in order for them to gain further personal
and group skills, with a view to developing
independent living skills, combined with social
maturity.
An environment of
mutual trust, respect, tolerance and understanding
of others is continually encouraged. This leads to a
young person improving their self-confidence and
self-esteem.
We have a
kitchen, TV room and a large recreation room. We
have our meals and snacks in the dining area of our
kitchen. We can help to prepare or cook our own
evening meal. During the school day we have lunch in
one of the school dining rooms.
