SELF-PORTRAITS
| ‘Self-Portraits’ was
written, performed and directed by pupils
from West Kirby Residential School as part
of an Arts Award project. Devised using
experimental methods, ‘Self-Portraits’ is a
surreal glimpse inside the minds of young
people living with ‘Special Needs’.

Back in December 2011, Shaun McEvoy was
supported by Mr Davies in applying to take
part in ‘the Hottest Classroom on Earth’
(initiative run by Springfield Academy in
Wiltshire within the engage network of
schools). Shaun was shortlisted (1 of 28
pupils nationally) to take part in a
training camp in the Brecon Beacons at the
end of January this year. It was a very
challenging weekend physically and both
Shaun and Mr Davies enjoyed the challenge in
the cold conditions. Although not selected
to be part of the final expedition team that
travels to Tanzania in June, Shaun and Mr
Davies are looking forward to more exciting
challenges in the near future! |
