Friends
of the School
STOP PRESS: All parents/carers are inviting
to have a coffee with the members of the ‘Friends’ of WKRS on
Wednesday 17 October 2007 at 10.00am. This event will take place
prior to the Harvest Festival Assembly of wish you will receive a letter
via school circulars. Please join us and meet with other parents.
The ‘Friends’ of WKRS Organisation was founded a
number of years ago and consists of a group of parents, friends and
staff of the school who meet about five or six times each year. They
organise social functions for the staff, parents and children and over
the past years they have consisted of the seasonal school fayres and
school draws, quiz nights, sixties and Irish folk evenings. Each month a
prize draw of £30.00 1st prize, £15.00 2nd prize and £10.00 3rd prize is
drawn through the fund raising scheme known as the 100 Club, winners
list can be found in the School Newsletter section.
Listed below are items that the ‘Friends’ have purchased or donated
funds towards:
Multi-gym Equipment
Games and Equipment for the Residential Units
Equipment for out of school activities
School Minibus
The committee does need support and new blood is
invaluable to inject fresh ideas. If as a parent or friend you would
like to either support the committee or attend some of the events please
find listed below the next meeting/event.
So why not come along to the next meeting and see what it is all about?
The meetings themselves are very informal and existing members would be
pleased to see you.
